Trend Micro Mobile Security iOS Application - MITM SSL Certificate Vulnerability (CVE-2016-3664)
"Trend Micro Mobile Security for your iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad stops web and privacy threats before they reach you, allowing you to safely enjoy your mobile lifestyle."
"Using our cloud-based Smart Protection Network, it provides comprehensive, up-to-the-second mobile security against phishing, identity theft, fraudulent websites, and the loss of your iOS device."
"This mobile security app identifies fake websites that try to steal your data, including banking details. Additionally, it can help you select the safest privacy settings on Facebook and Twitter. It also can help you manage your cellular, Wi-Fi, and roaming data usage."
"Bonus! If your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad is ever lost or stolen, Trend Micro Mobile Security can help you find it."
The Trend Micro Mobile Security iOS application (version 3.1.1034 and below) does not validate the SSL certificate it receives when connecting to the mobile application login server.
An attacker who can perform a man in the middle attack may present a bogus SSL certificate which the application will accept silently.
Usernames, passwords and sensitive information could be captured by an attacker without the user's knowledge.
